Why Jews Don't Believe In Jesus
Spectre
So much blindness in refusing to see Jesus in their own scriptures.

Seriously....nothing new here, either. Scripture declares they have a veil over their eyes.

"Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but more frequently than not struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God."

For the ones who reply that God has put a veil over their eyes. How do you reconcile that with the understanding that God desires that all mankind be saved? It seems like you are saying that God cannot have the thing He desires. I know that you believe that it is the job of Believers to give opportunities to choose faith in Jesus. That's called witnessing and I know most of the people here believe that witnessing is a good thing. So, how do you witness to a Jew if God has made it impossible for a Jew to believe in Jesus? How do you answer the concerns of the Rabbi without just saying negative things. Getting angry with his obstinence will not produce anything of value.
All humans Jews & Gentiles have a veil over their minds and cannot see the truth. The veil is not from God but a demonic blanket that stops the light .
Only the gospel via the Holy Spirit and his Word can break that veil
For the unbeliever in general:
2 Corinthians 4:4 (AMP)
4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.
For the Israelites (and today's unbelieving Jew?):
2 Corinthians 3:13-17 (AMP)
13 Nor [do we act] like Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze upon the finish of the vanishing [splendor which had been upon it].
14 In fact, their minds were grown hard and calloused [they had become dull and had lost the power of understanding]; for until this present day, when the Old Testament (the old covenant) is being read, that same veil still lies [on their hearts], not being lifted [to reveal] that in Christ it is made void and done away.
15 Yes, down to this [very] day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their minds and hearts.
16 But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

"The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10, Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24). According to the Christian claim that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth, he had no father ― and thus could not have possibly fulfilled the messianic requirement of being descended on his father's side from King David." I recall years ago a preacher saying that Jesus is descended on Mary's side from King David. I don't recall the scripture he used, but he explained that the writers of scripture wouldn't list the woman's descendants. It was very interesting. Wish I could recall more on the subject.![]()
Messiah means "anointed one" in Hebrew, technically, anointed King, which is why the Messiah must be from the line of Judah, which is the line of the kings, specifically, King David.
For many Jewish people, Christians witness by saying, "Jesus is the Messiah, because He died on the cross for our sins." It is similar to saying, " Tom is a bonafide lawyer, and I can prove it to you, I saw him doing heart surgery on his patient the other day."
You see, sacrifice for sin is known to have its responsibility among the Levites, and not the tribe of Judah.
Thats why the Pharisee party was formed in the first place, because the Hasmoneans were Levites that were ruling as kings, and they weren't of the tribe of Judah, the bonafide kings.
But Jesus is King from Judah, but is priest in the order of Melchizidek, and not of Levi, which gives him rights to be a king and a priest, but this is over the heads of many Jewish people...and we must pray how to communicate this.
Because, for now, saying Jesus is Messiah because he died for our sins is like saying Tom is a lawyer because he does heart surgery.
