Here's a scarf I finally finished up. Variegated yarn, knit in seed stitch. Love the way the texture and the colors work together. Hate the fact that I used cheap acrylic yarn on this - but it still looks beautiful!

ooh...beautiful. I need to try and tackle socks one day. everyone tells me that it is simple. I have not yet tried cables either. I am sure they are simple. I just have to try them.
I love the seed stitch and the double seed stitch even more. They are both simple stitches that make up so nicely.
As you all know..I am trying to finish up the last 10 inches or so of Nightsky's shawl so that I can get it off to her. gonna do up some handwarmers real quick to go with them.

I wish I could knit. I found that I always dropped stitches and pearled instead of knit. It was just confusing to me. But those socks look wonderful. I love that seed stitch! Crochet is more my thing.

I have a good instructional program by them that covers just about everything you can think of. I've had it for some years...on vhs. Good reminder to check into getting it on dvd.

I have a basic sock pattern that I've been following for years. I knit my first socks from this when all I knew how to do was knit and purl. I need to photocopy it because it's really old and needs to be on a new sheet of paper so I can send it to you if you like.
