I think I have finally figured out my running "wall"....and I'm pretty excited about it. I was talking to a lady that volunteers with me in the school library about running, and the burning sensation I get in my lungs. I can go for a mile, and then I have to walk or it feels like there are hooks in my lung that are going to drag them out. She asked me if I had asthma, to which I responded, obviously, "no...never had asthma". I then talked to my husband about it because he used to be a long distance runner, and he asked the same thing, and I again said, "no...never had asthma". So, me being me, I googled, "running, chest lung pain" and I found this article: Exercise-induced asthma: Symptoms - MayoClinic.com
I decided to self-medicate (I know, I know...judge all you want) with some over the counter asthma medicine before I went out, and doggone if I couldn't run with NO pain!!!!!!!Y'all have no CLUE how happy I am!!!!! so, I reckon I'll head over to the doctor and make sure he's ok with my self-medication, and continue on my way to a new healthier life!
