I'm a California boy. My first day in the South I saw more food for just ONE MEAL than I ever saw in a whole day in California :P

And there's more than just a lot, it's all so GOOD too O_O

Theres lots of GOOD southern food. But its not necessarily the best for your health

What do you like best? I like home grown fried okra and fresh sliced tomatoes right out of the garden!!

The BEST more favorite southern food is BBQ!! Brisket and ribs is the best IMO. Of course Fuego will probalby come and 'correct' me on that

Hm...I'd have to go with mashed potatoes, fried okra, and...hm...I'll stick with those for now :P

...and yes, I mentioned mashed potatoes, because after coming to the South I learned that good mashed potatoes are only made here :P

hubby was having an MRI yesterday and I was watching Paula Deen making an apple struedel on the clinic TV...she used 5 layers of phyllo dough with butter between each layer and then a generous covering of butter on top before baking...oh my goodness....I've gotta try it! But back the the topic...REAL butter is the only way to go
