Thumbs up A Great Idea For Coffee!

For those of you who havn't made the conversion to Keurig yet, I figured out a great way to flavor your coffee. Getting Trader Joe's Gingerbread and Winter's Blend coffees caused a lightbulb to go off. Basically, when grinding my coffee, I decided to put in some cinnamon sticks with the coffee beans, flavoring the coffee. So wonderful! I could add some other whole spices if I wanted, and I just might experiment with it!

See how easy and delicious that was?

While I have a Keurig, I've just switched to using a moka pot.

Makes wonderful coffee. I have the espresso model and use an espresso grind, but only half. It's still a little strong and since I use milk anyway, I'll use half coffee/half milk. Excellent brew.

I'll try adding a bit of cinnamon. Thanks!

Just learned a new way to steam/froth milk for lattes, etc. without needing anything more than a large glass jar.

Pour milk in jar, make sure the lid is on tight and shake. The milk will double in volume and froth. Microwave for about a minute and it's ready.

For those that don't know, Keurig is owned by the man that created zig-zag rolling papers, which owed its success in large part to the pot smoking movement of the 60's-70's. He became a multi-millionaire off of the business when he sold it. A few years ago he bought a small company called Keurig, and injected some few million into it, creating the phenomenon you see today. We own one, but I will not spend money on the refills, as that is how they make the majority of their money.

      Peace...

I am part of the unwashed masses of coffee lovers. Tea is the abode of the pretentious. Tea drinkers are the man just trying to keep us down...

      Peace...

I don't buy the refills either, they are a bit pricey for us.
