Default Do Jezebel spirit and other extra-Biblical doctrines bother you?

Where does the idea of a 'Jezebel spirit' come from. In this video, it is just ssumed. the Bible does not teach that there is a 'Jezebel spirit.'

In the book of Revelation, Jesus talked about "that woman Jezebel". She wasn't just spreading gossip. She was teaching people to commit fonication and eat meat offerred to idols. And there is no mention of a 'Jezebel spirit' in the passage. It's just not in the Bible.

When and through whom did God reveal that there is one giant principality or spiritual entity behind all these cases of controlling women? It is not in the Bible. In this video, the idea seems to be assumed. Could it be that people base this idea on what other people say, but no one knows where the idea came from in the first place? If you, as the reader, can't tell us through whom God revealed this, how, and what He revealed, why would you believe it?

This kind of stuff, elaborate doctrinal teaching on spirits that aren't mentioned in scripture, must seem really fruity and esoteric to Bible believing Christians who aren't from certain streams of the Charismatic movement. I was raised Pentecostal. There was a big emphasis on the Bible. The churches I went to believed in spiritual gifts, but I never heard this kind of stuff, and it sure seemed fruity and esoteric when I first heard it. It still seems a bit weird. What is really weird is how many people believe it, but can't tell me how or to whom God revealed it.

What about other doctrines, like the idea that 'manipulation is witchcraft' or teachings on various other spirits? Does that bother anyone else?

I lived through this spirit attacking me without knowing what it was. This teaching was spot on. I lived it. Can't you accept personal testimony Link ? There is a controlling demon that will attack any minister who steps out in the power of God. Whatever you want to call it it is real.

Look, as it were, through a telescope that will bring it up near to you; look into hell, and hear them groan; then turn the glass upwards and look at heaven, and see the saints there, in their white robes, with their harps in their hands, and hear them sing the song of redeeming love; and ask yourself--Is it possible, that I should prevail with God to elevate the sinner there? Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain.

Jezebel was a very controlling woman. When there is a person in a church or even a family that tries to control everything that spirit is sometimes refered to as a ''Jezebel spirit" . Its not always a woman either, sometimes its a man

... and that spirit identified as "Jezebel" doesn't only work through women. It's non-discriminating. Men or women.

Jezebel was a boodthirsty murderous idolatrous whose religion promoted sexual immorality. Jesus rebuked 'that woman Jezebel' who taught the people to sin by fornicating and eating meat offered to idols.

So if someone is a bit controlling, is it right to say that person has a demon called the 'Jezebel spirit.' Can't being controlling be a human characteristic? Something in line with the 'works of the flesh'? Couldn't there be cases where being controlling isn't even sinful and people slander the controlling person by saying she has a 'Jezebel spirit'?

If someone is controlling, is it right to accuse that person of promoting idolatry and fornication? If a woman is controlling, is it right to call her a slut? If someone is controlling, is it wrong to call that person an idolater or a murderer?

How do you know that this was a 'Jezebel spirit' or 'the Jezebel spirit?' Could it be that a wide variety of demons attach in similar ways?

      Ask yourself this question
"Why did Jesus call this woman Jezebel....I would be very surprised if that was her real name but he was using the name Jezebel to make a spiritual comparison and how this person was under the same deception

It would be very unlikely this woman's real name was Jezebel and just happened to be acting like the real Jezebel in the OT
I strongly lean towards Jesus making reference to the spirit behind this woman and the church knew who she was

If I had to guess, I would guess her parents probably did not name her 'Jezebel' and that Jesus is calling her this because she was similar to Jezebel in the Old Testament. The passage tells us in what way she was similar:

      Revelation 2
20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

Jezebel in the Old Testament led the people into paganism. Canaanite paganism was known for its sexual rituals. Eating meat offerred to idols was a part of their religion, too. There is nothing in Jesus' words about the woman being called Jezebel because she was controlling. There is nothing in the passage that justifies calling someone who has a controlling personality or various other flaws a 'Jezebel' if she doesn't lead people into fornication and eating food offerred to idols.

Notice this passage says nothing about a demon named Jezebel. Jesus referred to a woman as 'that woman Jezebel.' Jezebel was the name of a Canaanite princess who married an Israelite king. Her ghost did not transform into some kind of principality upon her death. There is nothing in scripture that says that a principality is named after her.
