Default 70's Style Vans - Where did they go?

Many of us remember that iconic vehicle of the 70's. Often they were comfy, carpeted interiors, great music systems, and had creative paint jobs. To my observation, I don't see anything like them today?

Got pictures of your cool van? Why do you think they have all but gone away? I always thought they had a really practical aspect.

I had two but neither were ever a finished project....ended up junking one and trading off the other. You would see them all over the place if they weren't so "out of style". They seem to be at the bottom of the comeback loop right now but I'm predicting a "hipster" accelerated fad any year now.

I never had one, but the guitar player in our band had one. Classic '70s. Shag carpet in the back, etc.
Look, as it were, through a telescope that will bring it up near to you; look into hell, and hear them groan; then turn the glass upwards and look at heaven, and see the saints there, in their white robes, with their harps in their hands, and hear them sing the song of redeeming love; and ask yourself--Is it possible, that I should prevail with God to elevate the sinner there? Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain.

I think Uncle Rico pretty much has killed any kind of comeback for the 70's van craze...

I bought a brand new 1976 Chevy van and converted it. Diamond windows in the rear, paneling, carpeted, convertable rear seat/bed, etc.

That's it, the bed made it something you could practically live in if you wanted to. I remember back then that Fred Dryer of the LA Rams lived out of his van ;)
